Poison Pen Book Club Keeps Readers Guessing!
The September meeting of the Poison Pen Book Club was a page-turning success, with 15 members gathered to discuss a mystery that kept everyone guessing right up to the final chapter.
The group’s latest read, Guess Again by Charlie Donlea, earned an enthusiastic 10-plus rating and a unanimous recommendation as a must-read. And with a title like Guess Again, readers should have known they were in for a few surprises! Donlea lives up to the promise, skillfully weaving clever twists, mounting suspense, and plenty of unexpected turns into a mystery that keeps the pages flying. Even the most seasoned mystery readers were kept guessing until the very end, where an unexpected conclusion brought the story to a close.
The excitement continued as members nominated their favorite mysteries for the club’s November selection. A drawing was held, and Lock Every Door by Riley Sager emerged as the winner. The group is already looking forward to opening the first page and discovering what twists and turns await.
“We are all excited to see what this new mystery will bring to the table,” said Joanne Pozorski Szalay.
Of course, no Poison Pen gathering would be complete without a little extra fun. Members participated in a drawing for a small gift, and everyone went home with a bookmark.
